On your device — the app works without an account and without internet. Two optional routes come on top: device sync keeps several devices on the same state; it is free, runs through a free account, and the end-to-end encrypted data sits on our servers (hosted at Supabase, EU region in Frankfurt, Germany). iCloud or Google Drive backup puts encrypted backups into your own iCloud or, on Android, your Google Drive — free, by hand or automatically, entirely without an account with us. Either way, only you hold the key.

Under More → Export & backup you create an encrypted backup file for free (without photos and documents). Backup to your own iCloud or, on Android, your Google Drive is free as well, by hand or automatically every day, photos and documents included — no account with us needed. Pro adds backup for every device: end-to-end encrypted on our server and restorable on any device with your account and protection password.

Then the backup cannot be opened any more — not by us either. That is not a convenience gap, it is the whole point: we could only make your data readable if we had the key. Put the password into your password manager.

Through device sync, and that is free: create an account, sign in on both devices, done — every device shows the same inventory, end-to-end encrypted through our servers in Frankfurt, Germany. Without an account, use the backup file: create it on the old device, import it on the new one.

Only what you select: manufacturer, model, caliber, gun type and, if you like, photos and details such as year of manufacture or barrel length. Serial numbers, storage locations, stock levels, prices and permit data are technically excluded — they are not even part of the transmitted data. Via Generate new ID all previous links become invalid.

No. Every legal note in the app is guidance with its source and the date it was checked, not legal advice, and the app only shows what a country actually has: reporting deadlines where they exist, storage classes where the law defines them, quotas only where a document carries a number. What counts is the statute, your own licenses and permits, and what the agency that governs you says.

On iPhone and iPad, and in the browser at web.waffenschrank.app — no installation needed there, on Android devices too. There is no Android app yet; it is in the works, and we are not giving a date.

In your App Store subscription settings, like any other subscription. A one-time purchase is unaffected. Data you have already entered stays readable and exportable, with or without Pro.

More → Cloud backup → Delete account. That removes account, backups and showcases from our servers. The data on your device stays until you delete the app.
